Swimming Pool Rendering
Precision Levelling & Waterproofing for Luxury Pool Interiors
Swimming pool rendering is the most critical stage of a pool build or renovation. While tiles or pebble-Crete are the visible finishes, the underlying render determines the pool's structural performance and longevity. A pool interior is under constant hydraulic pressure; if the render is uneven, porous, or poorly bonded, the final finish no matter how expensive will eventually crack, lift, or fail.
At JT Industries & Co, we provide specialized swimming pool rendering across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast. We focus on creating perfectly level, high-adhesion surfaces designed to handle constant water exposure and chemical treatments.
Specialized Pool Rendering Solutions
A rendered pool surface is the foundation of a high-end aquatic environment. Our team provides expert solutions for:
-
New Concrete Pool Shells: Levelling and profiling new builds for a flawless tile finish.
-
Pool Resurfacing & Restorations: Removing aged render and preparing the shell for a modern refresh.
-
Precision Tile Preparation: Ensuring wall planes are straight and corners are square for high-end tiling.
-
Feature & Infinity Edges: Delivering the extreme accuracy required for overflow and wet-edge systems.
-
Step & Bench Profiling: Creating comfortable, uniform, and non-abrasive transitions.
The JT Industries Pool Rendering Process
We utilize a disciplined, high-performance system to ensure your pool remains watertight and visually perfect. Nothing is new to us, we have worked on everything from standard residential concrete shells to complex, large-scale commercial aquatic centres across SEQ.
Phase 1: Shell Assessment & Preparation
We begin by inspecting the concrete shell for high spots, "honeycombing," or contamination. The substrate is cleaned and prepared to ensure a permanent bond. If the concrete is too smooth or inconsistent, we utilize specialized techniques to create the perfect "key" for the render.
Phase 2: Levelling & Profiling
This is where precision is paramount. We eliminate high and low spots, straightening the wall planes and levelling the floor. By creating a uniform surface, we ensure that your pool tiles sit flush and perfectly aligned, reducing the risk of "lippage" or stress points that lead to cracking.
Phase 3: High-Adhesion Render Application
Using a two-coat system, we apply specialized, water-resistant render. We focus on consistent thickness and density across the entire interior to provide a stable base that supports the weight and pressure of the water and the finishing tiles.
Phase 4: Final Finishing & Integration
The surface is refined to suit your specific finishing system. Whether the pool is being fully tiled, beaded, or finished with a specialized rendered coating, we ensure the profile is accurate to within millimetres before the final handover.
Premium Systems: Rockcote, Dulux & Haymes
Pool rendering requires materials that can survive a "wet environment" 24/7. We only utilize industry-leading systems known for their chemical resistance and flexibility:
-
Rockcote Systems: Our primary choice for superior adhesion and compatibility with concrete substrates.
-
Haymes Rendertex: Excellent for specific textures and architectural pool finishes.
-
Dulux Acratex: High-performance systems often specified for commercial-grade pools and coastal environments.
Why Accuracy Matters in Pool Rendering
In a swimming pool, there is no room for error. A poorly rendered pool shell leads to:
-
Uneven Tile Lines: Visible flaws at the water line where accuracy is most noticeable.
-
Drummy Sections: Areas where the render has detached, leading to future tile failure.
-
Water Ingress: Compromising the structural concrete and steel reinforcement over time.
Our "Master-Renderer" approach ensures dead-straight walls, balanced floor levels, and clean transitions, giving your tiler the perfect canvas to work on.
