The JT Industries 4-Phase Plastering Process

Venetian plaster is a high-stakes finish. Because it highlights every detail, the preparation must be clinical. Nothing is new to us we have applied these specialized plasters over everything from new plasterboard to heritage masonry.

Phase 1: Precision Surface Assessment & Prep

We begin by ensuring the substrate is 100% stable. Decorative finishes will amplify any underlying cracks or bumps, so we meticulously clean, repair, and sand the area to create a "glass-smooth" base.

Phase 2: Technical Base Preparation

We apply specialized primers and base coats to stabilize the suction of the wall. This ensures that the decorative plaster layers bond perfectly and dry at a controlled rate, preventing "hot spots" or uneven colour.

Phase 3: Artisan Trowel Application

This is the craft stage. The plaster is hand-applied in multiple thin, controlled layers. We use specific trowel movements to "burnish" the material, building the cloud-like movement and depth that Venetian plaster is famous for.

Phase 4: Final Refinement & Protection

Depending on your design, we finish the surface to your desired sheen from a raw matte to a high-gloss polish. We then apply specialized waxes or sealers to protect the finish from dust and moisture while enhancing its natural colour.
